Program Manager at Google

Upon deciding to commit the time and resources to pursuing my MBA, I looked at a variety of local brick and mortar programs and other online programs. UNC is the only top-20 MBA online program that afforded the flexibility and balance between the domestic and international perspectives of business while holding true to the highest level of academics among top business schools around the world.

I attended the South Africa Immersion & Extension prior to starting my first quarter and I was absolutely amazed. First, the caliber of students was top-tier; leaders of industry, motivated attitudes, and a willingness to help each other in any way possible. Second, the networking during class and after was far beyond anything I could have imagined; everyone was professional and always extended the opportunity to connect in the future. My initial doubts about networking in an online program were immediately dismissed. I sometimes forget that I’m not on-campus in Chapel Hill.

During my time in the program, I have formed friendships with other students around the world (from my home in Los Angeles to Guam), learning from them, and sharing my own experiences all in a face-to-face environment. The Tar Heel Family is truly that; a family. It doesn’t matter where in the world I am, or where I may be traveling to, I know there will be a Tar Heel willing to help if I ever needed it. I highly encourage prospective students to cast away their preconceived notions about a stereotypical “Online MBA” because UNC’s MBA@UNC program is everything but your typical MBA program!
