CONSULTING SKILLS AND FRAMEWORKS

2 credit hours

Consulting Skills and Frameworks, the first of two consulting courses, helps students develop key skills that management consultants and general managers use throughout their careers:

  • Fact-based analysis: Use fact-based analysis to solve complex business problems in the least amount of time.
  • Action-oriented communication: Effectively communicate findings and persuade target audiences and clients to act on recommendations.
  • Team-based problem solving: Structure problem-solving teams in ways that utilize each team member’s strengths and facilitate group synergies.

The course, which mirrors the methodology used by the major management consulting firms, is designed for any student who wants to improve their skills in these areas, regardless of whether they intend to pursue a career in consulting or operations management.
