“I still have time for the most important people in my life”

Work and school take up 90 percent of my time right now. The 10 percent I have left, I have to make count. It’s an act of choreography! I don’t live near Chapel Hill, so driving to school would swallow up what’s left of my free time. The online delivery eliminates the commute, so I still have time for the most important people in my life: my wife and kids. That’s invaluable.

“It’s incredible to be able to put my new skills into action”

I’m wrapping up a major construction project at work – we’re in the fourth year of a five-year initiative to convert our casino from a day-trip destination to a resort. As the project comes to a close, my role will change, and an MBA will help me be prepared for the transition.

In the meantime, I’m using my new skills to ensure that the project is a success. As we award parts of the project to various bidders, I’m applying my analytical skills to the decision process. Because of the tools I’m learning in the MBA program, I feel confident that my decisions are positioning the company to meet and exceed its goals.

I recently put my presentation skills to the test with the rollout of our new third party restaurants. Both establishments are fully independent of our operation and require a significant amount of internal coordination to successfully integrate into the facility. I used the structured presentation techniques from our coursework to align multiple departments in the effort, saving time and money.

It’s incredible to be able to put my new skills into action and see the immediate impact on our business!
