Online Learning Tools

MBA@UNC students access coursework, attend live classes and connect with classmates and professors through an online learning platform known as 2NC. The world-class online learning tools delivered by 2NC allow students to complete coursework on their own schedule and to easily access every facet of their MBA, no matter where they are or what device they are using.

Live Class Sessions

Weekly class sessions bring students face-to-face with classmates and professors via webcam in an interactive online classroom. Class sessions build upon the week's coursework materials and allow students to participate in lively, collaborative discussions. All live sessions are recorded, allowing students to watch and review previous sessions at any time.

Live Classroom Features

Live classes are capped at 15 students to ensure every student's voice is heard. During live classes, professors and students can:

  • Utilize interactive tools, such as videos, polls, slides and graphs.
  • Engage in live debates and simulated business interactions.
  • Collaborate in small groups using private "breakout rooms."
  • Share documents, links, questions and ideas through live chats.

From the 2NC platform, students can also schedule one-on-one office hours with professors hosted in the live classroom or create their own live classroom to host networking events, social groups or study sessions.

If you would like to experience a live class setting firsthand, we invite you to sit in on a real MBA@UNC class during a live class visit. To learn more about visiting an MBA@UNC class, request information now.

Interactive Coursework

MBA@UNC coursework is delivered through a variety of interactive formats, all accessible 24/7 from the 2NC platform. All coursework is authored and taught by the same UNC professors who teach on campus. Faculty members work with a team of content producers to turn lectures and assignments into hands-on experiences that can be completed online. In addition to traditional assignments, such as readings and case studies, MBA@UNC's interactive content is presented to students in a variety of formats:

Professionally Produced Video Content

By partnering with a world-class production team, faculty members bring complex concepts to life using innovative visual techniques, such as role play vignettes or hands-on demonstrations.

Guided Video Lectures

Professors record lectures that students navigate at their own pace. These lectures are accompanied by visual aids, including graphs, images and videos. Students can select chapters of the lecture to review or pause the lecture to print the on-screen materials.

Online Roundtable Discussions

Students watch prerecorded discussions led by professors or guest speakers. Periodically, the speaker stops and asks the students a direct question about the material. Students write or record their responses, which are then shared with classmates and professors. At the end of the assignment, students review their classmates' responses and respond to them directly.
