MBA@UNC Gives Back with Habitat for Humanity

It may be early November, but ‘tis the season for giving here at UNC Kenan-Flagler.

Serving our Chapel Hill community is why MBA@UNC staff members spent their Saturday, Nov. 5 working on “The House that Kenan-Flagler Built.” The 8th Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, N.C., brings together students, faculty and staff from all UNC Kenan-Flagler programs to build homes in our community. Working together is a visible example of our dedication to teamwork and community, two of our core values.

UNC Kenan-Flagler MBA students also do an international build over spring break.  In 2012, they will participate in their 4th Habitat International Global Village project.

UNC Kenan Flagler’s Habitat for Humanity initiative is one way we live our core values:

  • Through this project, we focus on building community while serving the community. While MBA@UNC is an online program, as a team, that we have the ability to create positive change in the world.
  • We are nurturing leadersof the future – the students who are at the forefront of this initiative – who are learning first-hand that one measure of success is helping others succeed – in this case, Habitat families.
Having the opportunity to give back, enjoy a day of teamwork, and live our core values is a privilege. We admire the work of Habitat for Humanity around the world and are proud that its CEO, Jonathan Reckford, is a UNC graduate.

How do you give back to your community?
