The teaching interests of Ron Lazer include corporate financial reporting, financial statement analysis and valuation. His research interests include financial accounting and reporting, value relevance of accounting information, analyst forecasts and effects of regulation, companies’ valuation, and voluntary disclosures.
He is a clinical professor of accounting at the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, a professor at Sharei Mishpat College and a visiting professor at INSEAD Business School. Recently he joined Sharei Mishpat College in Israel to start a new undergraduate program in accounting. Prior to arriving at the University of Houston, he taught at New York University, Tel Aviv University and the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya. An award-winning teacher, he teaches EMBA, MBA, master in accountancy and undergraduate classes.
Before he began his academic career, he worked as a CPA in the consulting and auditing departments of Arthur Andersen and Haft & Haft & Co. (BDO).< Back to Faculty Profiles
