I have always wondered if the alumni of other universities refer to their campus and their time in college as “magical” as often as a UNC graduate. Living in various cities far from Chapel Hill after graduation, I have heard few friends and colleagues wax poetic about their time at university the way a Tar Heel has a habit of doing. Congratulations and welcome to the incoming class of students in the first MBA@UNC class, kicking off the next step in their educations at University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School when the program launches on July 4, 2011.
UNC Kenan-Flagler’s newest MBA program was created for working professionals who want to earn their MBA from a top-ranked business school from anywhere in the world. Using an innovative new system students will take part in online class sessions and have access to world-class faculty, with other leading professionals as classmates.
The mix of the 19 incoming students covers the spectrum of professional backgrounds: almost half come from a scientific or engineering background and 28 percent are women. They average more than 8.5 years of work experience in a variety of industries and organizations, including Bank of America, Harrah’s Entertainment and Tribal Casino Gaming, Lockheed Martin, Morgan Stanley, Pfizer, Tata Consultancy Services Limited, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines and Wells Fargo.
