Program Director, MBA@UNC
Dan Bursch has more than twelve years of experience in higher education with time spent in admissions, program development, corporate development, and marketing roles in various capacities. He has spent the past eight years working exclusively in MBA education.
As Program Director of MBA@UNC, Dan oversees key pieces of the student experience including the overseeing and program creation of the Global Immersion course, the STAR and GBP programs, as well as working with various student groups on different initiatives. In addition to his student facing role, Dan leads MBA@UNC’s corporate relations efforts as well as the marketing of the program.
Prior to joining MBA@UNC in 2013, Dan previously served as both the Director of Admissions and Director of Student Affairs for the Full-Time and Part-Time MBA programs at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. While at Carlson he helped to grow the Part-Time MBA program to record enrollment while significantly improving quality standards for incoming classes. Similarly, he oversaw a revamp of the recruiting and marketing strategies for the Full-Time MBA programs resulting in significant quality improvement in incoming classes that helped lead the program to a top-25 program ranking. Dan has been a presenter and speaker at various MBA conferences and events around the world, discussing MBA admissions, MBA program development, as well as MBA program administration.
In addition to his time spent at the Carlson School of Management, Dan has held roles leading the recruiting and student affairs areas of the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine, the graduate admissions department at Hamline University, and overseeing student affairs and alumni relations for the MBA programs at North Carolina State University’s Poole College of Management.
